ARCUX spearheaded a comprehensive modernization initiative at Laboquidom, Dominican Republic, aimed at revitalizing its existing product lines and introducing a new pharmaceutical portfolio. Our focus was on expanding facilities, optimizing production capacity, and enhancing operational and manufacturing processes. Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards was prioritized, incorporating advanced technology and innovative methodologies to ensure the production of high-quality, effective pharmaceutical products.
Additionally, ARCUX provided specialized training and development programs to equip Laboquidom’s staff with the skills to efficiently manage new technologies and processes.
To structure the project, ARCUX implemented the Stage-Gate methodology. This proven framework divided the project into distinct phases, each separated by critical control points or "gates," ensuring that quality standards and strategic goals were met before advancing to the next stage.
The project began with the Recognition Gate, conducting a thorough evaluation of Laboquidom’s operations, infrastructure, and resources. This phase allowed ARCUX to identify key areas for improvement and establish clear, actionable goals, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision for growth and modernization.
Project services:
Assessment of current physical conditions, processes, and systems.
Validation of projected product demand and production volumes.
Evaluation and optimization of supplier conditions and logistics.
Inspection and improvement of receiving, storage, and dispatch areas.
Review of ERP systems for procurement, inventory, and finance management.
Assessment of manufacturing equipment and maintenance records.
Development of regulatory strategies with the General Directorate of Medicines (DIGEMAPS).
ARCUX developed a detailed report identifying key findings and challenges for the expansion plans. Multiple scenarios, including conceptual designs and estimated costs for each option, were presented. These alternatives provided Laboquidom with a clear understanding of the available paths, ensuring informed decision-making aligned with strategic goals.
